LOU RAZON
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Emigrating to LA in 1990, shortly after finishing Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design in Assumption College , Lou Razon’s penchant for beauty and fashion spans over three decades. While studying Fashion Design in LA, Lou’s craft was first honed through her early experiences working as a production assistant in textile and fashion houses during the early 90’s. An accomplished fashion designer by trade, whose creations have been worn by celebrities, politicians, entertainers and beauty queens, Lou Razon Couture was established in 1997, specializing in bespoke formals – wedding and occasion dresses – best known for perfectly fitted designs.
Her rise as a mainstream fashion designer gained much attention in 2002, when an evening gown she designed for Fil-Am anchorwoman Denise Dador, which she wore at the 2002 Oscars red carpet, was praised by Paul McCartney. Lou started producing a series of fashion shows around that time. In 2011, Lou produced the 1st Miss Philippines USA Beauty Pageant. Little did she know then, that this premier extravaganza would remain to be the longest running and most anticipated Fil-Am beauty pageant in the US.
With her love for pageantry stemming back to her youth in the Philippines, the pageant was one way that she could promote the beauty and culture of the Philippines. 2022 marked the rebranding of her retail store to “Estilo Filipino”, as a way to showcase true Filipino artistry, through her carefully curated designs of barong tagalog, delicate and modern Filipiniana ensembles, and intricately handmade bags and accessories. As a multi-awarded producer, organizer, and community leader, Lou has also established the Miss Philippines USA Foundation, a non-profit organization conceived to assist the underprivileged through charitable donations and advocacy mission tours to the Philippines, best utilized to promote education and MPUSA candidate advocacy platforms.
